Western Peek, 2006. Recycled wood and paper. Dimensions variable (approx. 12' x 23' x 4').

This work was commissioned by Sheridan College in Sheridan, Wyoming for a public space in the Student Services Center wing of a building overlooking the Big Horn Mountains. The wood used in this piece was recycled from building projects in and around Sheridan and was gathered by students in the Art Department. The paper cutouts are 882 pages from six outdated University of Wyoming catalogs. The protruding shape in the detail at top right is a bench that offers a view out the windows onto the mountains.

Special thanks to Sheridan College President Kevin Drumm and Arts Instructor Rod Dugal, as well as the many other people at the College who helped to realize this project. Photos ©2006 Ryan Ragan.
